-All videos use some sort of lighting, whether it be natural light (from the sun) or artifical light. The goal of video lighting is to choose the best source to achieve your goals. First and foremost you need enough light, and you need to be able to indentify the lighting source.
Peoples mood changes depending on lighting.
RULES OF USING A LIGHT
-Never use an extension lead
-Unplug other sources
-Dont use outside
-Ask for help
-Hold light with gloves
-Cant ask lighting guy to help you out with anything but lighting.
-Warn actors when lights are coming on
-Fire hazards/heat rises
-Light not to be higher than 1 meter from a roof
-If you wanted to move the light turn the light off 1st
-Red head gets lava hot in 10 seconds
-leave light for 10 minutes before packing away
FILM NOIR RESERCH
During my reserch i looked at film noir openings on youtube to get a feel for what poeple expect and put into film noir productions, as well as who would mostly likely to distrubute film noir's. Here are a few openings i looked at.... One of the distrebuter that popped up was 'Universal ' therfore i think if this was a big production i would aim for them to distrubute my film, but because of the scale of it, it is more likely to be on youtube.
Also i looked at what a typical film noir character's would wear, i looked on google at some images......
